For the internal re-modelling of Dobson House, it was essential that we improve the gross to net efficiency of the building and, more importantly, to provide an environment which supports and helps to promote creativity.
Respecting the original design of Dobson House, the first burolandschaft office in the UK was important to us therefore each design studio is laid out on the original architectural grid. This maintained both the external views via the vertical slot windows and the excellent lighting via the coffered ceiling.
The workplace is organized so that informal meeting spaces are positioned at the edges of the linear desks. Colourful sculptural furniture and tables provide a forum for group activities, design debates and reviews. A social hub in the form of a cafe and knowledge centre is located on the main office spine.
