FaulknerBrowns have completed master plans at Newcastle, Gateshead and Billingham Colleges as well as at the Institute of Technology at Carlow.
At Newcastle, the master plan created a new plaza at the centre of the college with new buildings for art and design as well as extended and refurbished buildings for teaching and learning, sport and recreation, and social facilities.
At Gateshead, the master plan achieved outline planning consent for the relocation of the college to Gateshead Quays integrating the college into the adjacent Sage and Baltic arts quarter on the banks of the River Tyne.
At Billingham, Bede, Stockton and Billingham Colleges were relocated as part of a master plan for community education, arts and sport. Forming a town centre gateway and revitalising Whitfield Park, it also included a winter garden, events arena and library and café facilities.
As well as master planning for colleges, FaulknerBrowns have also completed similar work for the universities of Sunderland, Newcastle and Lancaster, rationalising the estate with new, extended and refurbished buildings and landscape to enhance the student experience.
