Rutherford Street

Rutherford Street is a bold regeneration scheme which challenges the existing pattern of city centre housing development in Newcastle upon Tyne. Comprised of 150 premium quality apartments for the private rental sector (PRS), the progressive plans integrate high quality architecture into the city’s famous central conservation area.

The scheme will regenerate a derelict brownfield site that has been vacant for over a decade. The proposals will transform Rutherford Street into a high quality pedestrian route into the city centre improving connectivity between the city’s urban core and its Accelerated Development Zone to the west. The scheme aspires to give value back to the city. It is planned that NE1 will deliver a program of events that will offer the public the opportunity to access the building’s roof to explore Newcastle’s world famous cityscape from above.
